That Went Well.

The reading went very well last night. Nobody died, at least. That's the measuring stick I use for these things. If someone died then it usually means the reading didn't go well. If two people died than there's like a 82% chance that it didn't go well. And if more three or more people died it would mean that I'm writing this on the run, from either a seedy motel or at some internet cafe in a small rural town. I also would have dyed my hair and told strangers my name was Gary.

But last night no one died, so yep, it was a success. Ben Greenman and Dan Kennedy were their typically funny and entertaining selves and I managed to keep my stammering to a minimum. I even auctioned off my old XBOX for $50 -- even though I forgot to bring the bonus ham and cheese sandwich accessory. Per usual at these things, my camera was malfunctioning, so I am without pics to share. However, there was a kind soul in the audience who took photos and they say they will send them along to me. So that's nice.

At any rate, thanks to all who attended last night. I know that doesn't include any of you because I asked the crowd if anybody came because of Utter Wonder and nobody raised their hand. Instead everyone got nervous and started wondering if this when they would die. It took like five minutes to calm people down. Nervous nellies abound, apparently.

Have a nice weekend.

Congrats on your success! Just think of the folks that were there as new UW posters. You turned them on. Well, to UW at least. Have a nice weekend yourself.

You spoke too soon. I actually died on the way home.

I think the standards which you judge your readings by is a bit conservative and your view of what is an acceptable body count is waaaaaaaaay too narrow, but I'm just spitballing, here.
